The challenge

Wellington City Council needs transport projects approved within tight timeframes to qualify for NZTA funding. The consultation process requires long time periods. The endlessly changing political environment made it hard to meet timelines and provide quality information to the public and elected officials.

The solution

We have been working alongside the Council for nearly two years to develop a flexible digital-first engagement platform that has unlocked internal processes, and can better respond to change by getting information to the public faster and more efficiently. A focus on the community has lead to a better engagement experience for the public which in turn, means WCC collects a greater quantity and quality of feedback. The Transport Projects website lets the public see what people are saying during live consultations, as well as producing detailed reporting behind-the-scenes.
