The challenge
The Institute of Directors (IoD) uses bespoke technology to run its integrated website, finance and membership management software. Components of the technology stack are coming to the end of their lives and need to be replaced...but the tightly-bound technology meant it was hard to know where the replacement should begin. And if the website needed to be replaced, the opportunities for improvement were endless. And although it seemed like a technology project, it was actually all about people.
The solution
We have worked with IoD for over two years to understand the complex world of directorship and define a future vision for IoD’s digital channels. This work started with an independent review and went on to include service design, data analysis, defining IoD’s target audience personas, procuring design and technology partners and we are now supporting the complete replacement of their website and ‘back office’ systems.
